Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to inform you that the 6^th Iranian Mycological Congress (IMYC6) will take place in Mashhad, on September 6-8, 2025.

The IMYC6 will be organized by the Iranian Mycological Society (IMS) and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. This congress will provide excellent opportunity to bring together scientists, researchers and students in the field of mycology and related biological sciences from Iran and other countries. During this event, the latest advances and progress in various aspects related to fungi and fungus-like organisms (such as Systematics, Diversity, Molecular Taxonomy, Phylogeny, Evolution, Ecology, Interactions (with different host species and other microorganisms), Fungal Metabolites, Antifungal Compounds, Fungal Biotechnology, etc.) will be presented by the invited speakers.

The venue, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, is located in Mashhad which is in northeast of Iran. Ferdowsi University of Mashhad is one of the leading higher education institutions in Iran, famous for its commitment to academic excellence and research. The university has a vibrant community of international students and scholars, fostering a diverse academic environment with numerous fields of research.

Mashhad is the capital of Khorasan-Razavi province and the second biggest city of Iran due to its religious, industry and economic conditions. This city is an important cultural center, renowned for the Imam Reza shrine, which attracts millions of pilgrims annually. Mashhad boasts a rich history and diverse cultural heritages. Considering some of the most famous museums, major historical and cultural sites, and important Iranian universities located in Mashhad, the city is considered as a major center for science, history and culture in Iran.

During the congress, an excursion program will be planned to go around Mashhad and visit the historical areas of this city.
